Terms of Service

The rules of the road for using our products.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Konnex Explorer, Konnex Connect, or the Konnex Data API (collectively, "the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Konnex operates konnexlabs.com and provides:

  • Konnex Explorer — free, publicly accessible local business intelligence directory
  • Konnex Connect — a credit-based service for accessing verified business contact details
  • Konnex Data API — programmatic access to local business data for developers and businesses

3. Account Registration

To use Konnex Connect or the Konnex Data API, you must:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be authorised to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or your organisation
  • Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us immediately at support@konnexlabs.com if you suspect unauthorised access

4. Credits and Payments

  • Credits are purchased in packs. On paid tiers (Starter, Growth, Pro, Scale, and all API tiers), credits never expire.
  • Credits are non-refundable once consumed to reveal contact details or make API requests.
  • All prices are in USD. Payments are processed securely by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
  • You are responsible for all charges incurred on your account.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

5.1 Permitted Uses

You may use business data accessed through the Platform for lawful business purposes, including prospecting, sales outreach, market research, and business development, provided your use complies with all applicable laws.

5.2 Prohibited Uses

You must NOT use data accessed through the Platform to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk email, spam, or any form of bulk unsolicited commercial communication in violation of applicable anti-spam laws
  • Engage in illegal discrimination, harassment, stalking, intimidation, or any form of abuse directed at any individual or business
  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or otherwise make available to third parties any data obtained through the Platform without our prior written consent
  • Build, train, or enrich a competing data product, database, or service using data obtained from the Platform
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the Platform beyond normal API usage
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation, including privacy laws, anti-spam laws, and consumer protection laws

5.3 Your Legal Compliance Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of data accessed through the Platform complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to:

  • Australia: Spam Act 2003, Privacy Act 1988, Australian Consumer Law
  • United States: CAN-SPAM Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CCPA and other applicable state privacy laws
  • European Union: GDPR and applicable national data protection laws
  • All other jurisdictions: equivalent anti-spam, data protection, and consumer protection legislation

Konnex makes no representation that use of the Platform is appropriate or lawful in any particular jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to determine whether and how to use our services in compliance with local law.

5.4 Account Suspension and Termination for Violations

Konnex reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account immediately, without notice and without refund, if we reasonably believe you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy. We may also report violations to relevant authorities where required by law.

6. Data and Intellectual Property

  • Business data available through the Platform is sourced from publicly available information including public directories and business listings.
  • Konnex does not claim ownership of third-party business information but does own the curation, enrichment, and presentation of that data.
  • The Platform software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by Konnex and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
  • You may not reproduce, copy, or systematically extract the Platform or its data at scale without our express written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Konnex provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
  • We do not warrant that business data is complete, accurate, up to date, or fit for any particular purpose.
  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Platform or the data obtained through it.
  • Our aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Konnex in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at konnexlabs.com/terms with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
